Moschofilero fermented in a concrete egg, bottled unfined and unfiltered. The wine has a light peachy pink appearance and displays aromas of crushed herbs along with the grape's classic floral notes.
Troupis’ wines are adventurous, delicious and almost unbelievably affordable for the quality. The winery is located on a plateau rising 700 meters above sea level in the Peloponnese, where the local grapes are Moschofilero, for white wines (as well as skin contact wines that flirt with both orange and rosé styles), and Agiorgitiko for red.
Freshness is the name of the game here. In spite of the Peloponnese’s hot climate, the poor soils, which do not hold much water, and the massive diurnal shift in temperatures help to keep the wines bright and lifted. On top of that, Troupis chooses to minimize their impact on the wines. Only the top red, the Nemea, sees any oak aging and even those are used and large. The rest of their wines are fermented and aged solely in stainless steel, cement or ceramic, allowing the purity of the fruit to shine through.
