Clos Ornasca is located between the sea and the mountains, not far from the city of Ajaccio, Napoleon's hometown, in the south-west of Corsica. It all started in the municipality of Eccica Suarella in 1989. Vincent Tola, who had 5 hectares of vineyards, really began to cultivate his land and managed in just 6 years to restructure 10 hectares of vineyards. The goal has been to make quality wines by growing local grape varieties that are specific to the appellation. In 1999, Vincent's daughter, together with her husband, took over the family property. Clos Ornasca is one of the youngest vineyards in the region, but continues to grow to today cover almost 13 hectares of land. Agriculture is organic since 2020.
A garnet red color with golden brilliant hues. Powerful nose of wild cherries in cognac, as well as notes of licorice. The palate is soft and full-bodied but with fresh balance and structure. Long finale with spicy notes. An elegant and complex red wine to serve with grilled meat or with tasty cheeses.
