Description:
Obtained from vineyards cultivated in a wide area at the border with the Barolo and Barbaresco districts, this wine is immediately ready to drink, but it is also suitable for aging. After five years in the bottle, it still preserves its best features. Good structure, with a tannic and spicy finish.
TASTE: dry, balanced tannins, characterized by a delicate and slightly bitter finish. Rose petals, a bit tar, a bit rusty yet refined in its own way. Classic Nebbiolo.
MATURATION: after the fermentation and the initial pump-overs, it ages for one year in wooden casks and matures in dark green bottles.
FOOD PAIRINGS: perfect with meat, game and ripe cheeses. Serve at max. 20°C, open the bottle at least one hour before serving, in order to obtain more intensive perfume and taste.
Langhe Nebbiolo is Piedmont's regional, entry level expression of the beloved Nebbiolo grape, which is renowned for the great wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. And while Langhe Nebbiolo can often times leave us underwhelmed, this bottling from the great De Forville estate punches well above it's weight with structure and freshness we don't always see. The Barbaresco-based De Forville are a multi-generational winemaking family known for producing quality wines and their Langhe Nebbiolo is no exception from their quality.
